How do I get more traffic to my blog? or How do i get more traffic to my website?
It’s no wonder that this question get asked over and over again because traffic is the lifeblood of any blog or website. Whether you’re promoting a product on your blog/site or building your subscriber list, you need traffic. Whatever you intend to do…. if you have a blog/website, you need TRAFFIC!
Of course, there are many ways to generate traffic to your blog/site and I have written a few posts on this topic at my blog. You can take a look at Traffic Generation Tips.
In this post, I will share with you one method called Article Marketing. This is not a new method but very effective and it’s free. You don’t need to spend a dime doing article marketing, all it needs is your time.
I’m going to share with you how to write articles effectively and quickly.
1. Visit ezinearticles.com and do some research.
2. You’ll see a list of categories (30 or so) on the home page.
3. Select a category you like by clicking on it.
4. You’ll see a list of sub-categories. Choose one by clicking on it.
5. Now, you will see a list of articles in that category. Look through the title of each article and see which one makes you want to click.
6. Then, click on the one that attracts your attention and read the article.
7. After reading, copy the TITLE of that article and paste it onto a text file (I will talk more about TITLE later on).
8. Write down a few key points or tips that you’ve learned from that article. Now, in your own words, expand on the key points.
NOTE: If you feel that you need more key points to construct your own article, go back to the article list and find another one that has an interesting title and read it. You can repeat this step until you’ve got enough key points and tips to form your own article.
If you follow the above steps, you will be able to construct a 300 to 400 words article in no time, without you even realizing it. Note that the top article directory like ezinearticles.com will accept article that has at least 250 words.
After doing the above steps a few time, sometimes I can construct a 500 words article in less than 20 minutes. Of course, this will depend on the topic you want to write, some topics are pretty easy (perhaps you already have some knowledge on that topic). If you’re not familiar with the topic, it may take a bit longer.
WARNING: NEVER EVER copy other people’s articles word by word! That’s Plagiarism! What I’m suggesting you to do here is to read other people articles, get some ideas and then use it to organize your thoughts so that you’re able to write the same ideas in YOUR OWN WORDS.
Now, once you’ve manage to write the article, submit it to the following article directories:
- ezinearticles.com
- articlesbase.com
- goarticles.com
- articledashboard.com
There are hundreds of article directories but from my own experience, I find the above 4 are the best when it comes to getting more traffic to your blog/site. Of course, if you’ve the time, you can submit your article to more directories.
Note on your Article TITLE
Your article title is the most important part in term of search engine optimization (SEO). So, make sure you use the keywords you want to target in the title. Also, try to make the title of your article catchy or appealing that people want to click.
From my own experience, I find that attractive titles will consist of phrases like “5 Tips On How To……”, “5 Simple Steps To…..”, and “How To….”
For example: “5 Simple Steps To Burn Belly Fat”, “How To Burn Fat Almost Overnight With Ease”, “How To Lose 10 Pounds In One Month”.
