Making money with Google Adwords is NOT difficult BUT making PROFITS is.

Let me elaborate….

Most people who use Adwords can make a few sales. However, this doesn’t mean that they make a profit as well. Because most people spend more on ad cost than the money they make from sales. So, when you sum it all up at the end of the day… NET LOSS! In other words, the cost is higher than the revenue.

Side Note: For those who don’t know, Google Adwords is the #1 advertising platform on the Internet. This platform is known as the Pay-Per-Click system in the world of internet marketing. It’s a goldmine for those who know and understand how to use the system to create profits. Many savvy marketers make millions of dollars every year using Adwords.

But Adwords is a very elaborate system and unfortunately only a small percentage of people ever take full advantage of the functionality available.

The first thing you need to understand is that Adwords is just a tool and it can’t make you rich. You need the proper KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS to make the TOOLS work for you and make you rich!

There are many things you need to know in order to make profits in Adwords and it’s impossible for me to cover everything here. I will just highlight a few that I believe will either make or break your business.

Finding products to promote – this is perhaps the most important skill you need. Some products sell really well on the Internet but others just don’t sell at all. As an internet entrepreneur, you really need to know WHAT sells well online!

Finding profitable keywords – this is another very important skill you need to master if you want to succeed online. You need to know what people are typing in the search engine when they’re looking to purchase a product or services. If you know this, you have won half of the battle.

Analyzing your competition – if you understand business you know that competition is not always a bad thing. In fact, smart marketers always learn from their competitors. Analyzing your competition is an integral part of successful internet marketing.

Writing effective ad copy – Ad copy is the term Internet entrepreneurs use for the text within their ad campaigns. Knowing how to use the proper ad copy techniques is a very important skill that will determine your success. There are many techniques marketers use but the major ones are achieving high Click-Through-Rate (CTR) and Quality Score.

Creating relevant landing page – all successful marketers know exactly how to create relevant landing page to increase the Quality Score of their ads and sales conversion rate.

Testing and optimizing your ads – the most important testing skill you need to know is called the Split Testing. It’s not a new concept but it’s one of the most powerful methods for optimizing your ads and maximizing CTR performance.

These are just some of the most important things I believe you should know before you jump into Google Adwords.

There is a video course called “Adwords Reinvented” that teaches you how to make PROFITS with Adwords. The author of this product has reinvented Adwords by giving you his 5 years experience. He reveals several of his live campaigns that are making him 5 figure income month after month so that you can duplicate his success.

You can read a full review here Adwords Reinvented Review.

Back in the good old days (2002 to 2004 or even 2005), many people made good money using Pay Per Click advertising (especially Google AdWords) by using direct linking.

For those who don’t know what’s direct linking…. it means you link your PPC ad directly to the merchant site instead of your own site or landing page where you pre-sell the potential customer first before sending them to the merchant site.

The main reason why many people prefer to use direct linking is because it involves a lot LESS work! In essence, you can set up a PPC campaign in just few hours instead of days or even weeks trying to build a site or landing page with compelling pre-sell messages.

Although direct linking still works as many online marketers are still using it. But it’s much more difficult than it used to be in the past. This is due to the “ONE-URL” rule established by Google few years ago.

The Google’s One-URL Rule states that only one unique display URL may show up in the ad per keyword search result!

For example, if two online marketers are using direct linking to promote the same site “www.cheapest-iphone4all.com” and bid for keyword “buy cheap iphone”, then what happens is that Google will only display ONE ad based on which one that has the best quality score and highest bid price.

Basically, you’re in a ‘bidding war’ with other marketers which can hurt your ROI and profitability!

In today’s competitive business environment, direct linking strategy can hurt if used wrongly. However, it can still be a good strategy for testing new niche market. For example, if you can find highly specialized niches that no one really knows about, then direct linking is a good way to quickly test out the marketplace.

Personally, I prefer to build my own niche sites or landing pages for my PPC campaigns.

There are many advantages of having your own niche site and landing pages, some of the main ones are:

1. You won’t be in a bidding war with other online marketers so you can rake in more profit.

2. You can switch and expand your landing page into a full blown authority niche site, this is key to your long term success online.

3. In the long run, owning your own niche sites provides real assets for you. Imagine owning a few authority niche sites that not only do well with PPC traffic but also organic traffic from the search engines. This can give you long term income streams.

4. Google and many merchant sites may one day decide to forbid marketers/affiliates to use the direct-linking method. If this happens, you can rest assured that your PPC campaigns won’t be affected.

I hope you find this article useful.

P.S. If you want to learn PPC, I highly recommends the PPC Classroom Course. But, unfortunately PPC Classroom has closed its door. You still can go and register for FREE now so that you’ll get notified when the course reopens in the future.

Howard is Author of “AdWords for Dummies”, a very popular AdWords book for beginners.

Inside AdWords Checkmate (which consists of a downloadable MP3, PDF transcript & step by step flowchart), you will learn a powerful but most overlooked marketing strategy using Adwords. The strategy can increase your click through rate by as much as double, reduce your ad costs, and increase your profits.

Note that this is NOT another ebook that teaches you how to set up AdWords account, create campaigns, write adcopy or build landing pages. Rather it’s a market research system, when applied as they teach it, will increase your success rate of entering a new market dramatically.

If you have been doing online marketing business for a while now, I think you know that the secret to success is eliminating loser markets before you even start building your website. If you want to hone your online market research skills to a point that you can almost guarantee success, AdWords Checkmate Matrix is worth checking out.

This is perhaps the best online niche market research information ever published. The thing I like most about it is how elegantly simple it is. Using the unique ways of studying your competitors’ ads and offers, you will quickly know whether the market is profitable or not.

The AdWords Checkmate Matrix system is based on fundamental, proven marketing principles that most online marketers have overlooked. If you follow the system, you will get the following 3 BENEFITS…

Increase click through rate by as much as double

Reduce Adwords per-click costs up to 50% or more

Increase sales and profitability

All the techniques covered are LEGIT, it’s nothing to do with any black hat technique that will get you banned from Google.

Conclusion:

The Internet is full of graveyards of failed online businesses, almost 99% of online marketers fail because they don’t know how to research and find profitable niche markets. The secret skills needed to succeed online is covered in AdWords Checkmate. Using its matrix system, you will always know that you’re in the right market before wasting time and money in developing products and websites.

If you are using Pay Per Click marketing such as Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing system to promote and sell products online, do remember that more traffic does not mean more money.

What do I mean by that?

Let me explain by using an example…

For example, if you are targeting a keyword phrase “psp downloads”, you are likely to lose money. Why? Not only that the key phrase is super competitive but more importantly, it does not CONVERT. Meaning that people searching for that key phrase are the web browsers (mostly teenagers) and they don’t intend to buy anything. They’re just browsing and looking for free stuffs.

So, although targeting the key phrase “psp downloads” will give you tons of clicks and result in tons of traffic, it does not give you sales. And no sales = no money (a very simple equation). And remember that since you’re using PPC, every click will cost you money.

So what are you supposed to do?

The answer is to be more SPECIFIC. What do I mean by that?

It means that you need to find key phrases that are converting. These key phrases may not give you lots of traffic but they will give you sales. Which one is more important to you, sales or traffic?

In other words, you need to target those people who are looking to BUY NOW!

For example, you should be targeting on the following key phrases instead…

psp games downloads

best psp download site

how to download games to psp

how to download movies to psp

how to download videos to psp

… and so on.

The question now is how do you find these key phrases?

Well, you can use free keyword research tools such as SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool, Google Adwords Keyword Tool, or Wordtracker Keyword Suggestion Tool. All these tools are free but you need to spend a lot of time analyzing the data in order to uncover high-converting key phrases.

Or you can use Micro Niche Finder Software. But, this software tool will cost you $67 (one-time cost) and free lifetime upgrades. The reason why I recommend this software is because it can save you lots of time.

I use it almost everyday to find high-converting key phrases before creating my Adwords campaigns. It can help you find profitable niches and key phrases in minutes. And I find it very productive as it saves me a lot of time from doing research and analysis.

You can read the Micro Niche Finder Review here.

What is Google SLAP?

In order to maintain its status as the #1 search engine in the globe and give its users the best experience when searching for information on the Net, Google always make changes to their search engine’s algorithm from time to time.

If you’ve been using Google AdWords, perhaps you’ve heard of the term “Google SLAP”. This is the term used to describe that Google have made changes to its search engine algorithm to hunt down and punish low-quality and irrelevant search listings. For example, Google is very strict on landing pages. If your ad listings and landing pages are not relevant, your CPC (cost-per-click) is absurdly high!

So if you find that your CPC suddenly jumps up to an amount like $10 or more per click, you know that you’ve been slapped or punished by Google.

The question is how do you avoid Google SLAP? Are there proven techniques that we can use to avoid the SLAP?

The answer is a resounding YES! And if you’ve been using the techniques outlined in the guide “Beating AdWords“, then Google SLAP will not affect you. This guide has been considered as the bible of Google AdWords. Anyone who wants to use AdWords to promote his/her business online, should read Beating Adwords first!

Here is a transcript from Kyle & Carson’s (the authors of Beating Adwords) newsletters…

>>>>>>>> Transcript taken from Kyle & Carson’s newsletters <<<<<<<<

What just happened last week? Google made another change to their algorithm that took advertisers for another ride. Another one of Google’s famous SLAPS!

Did this affect our campaigns? NO. Did this affect anyone that implements Beating Adwords techniques? NO.

How come? Well, firstly our techniques are still 100% relevant to any advertisers. If you implement the techniques within Beating Adwords you can walk through any updates that Google makes unscathed.

If you’re using Google Adwords (Google’s pay-per-click or PPC advertising system), this tip is for you. You will learn what is Google Slap and how to avoid it. If you’re new to Google Adwords, please read this article first “AdWords Pay-Per-Click Advertising Tips“.

If you use Google Adwords, I’m sure you’ve heard about Google Slap. But, what exactly is Google Slap?

Well, simply put… Google is very strict with the advertisers when it comes to “relevance”. You can’t just put up an Adwords ad that goes to a page (or rather landing page) that is “irrelevant” with your ad. If you do that, Google will penalise or SLAP you by charging you unreasonable high price for a click. You can be asked to pay $10 or even $20 per click!

How Do You Avoid Google Slap?

Here are TWO things we always pay great attention to when we set up our Adwords campaign…

1. Relevance:
As mentioned, your ad and your landing page must be Relevant! The keywords you target in your ads and your landing page must be related otherwise you’ll get slapped by Google and charged a very high price per click. Furthermore, you will also waste your potential customer. Because when people clicking on your ad and get to your landing page that has no relation to your ad, they will immediately click off the page and leave! Because they are not looking at the product they thought they clicked on from your ad.

Tip: To make sure your web-page has high relevance, follow the practice of on-page SEO.

2. Content:
Actually, it’s a bad idea to direct your Adwords ad to a single page (or landing page) even though if it’s relevant to your ad. This is because if your site/page only contains a single sales page, you are going to find that the cost of your Google Ads are going to be running in the $10.00 per ad range. To avoid paying the high cost per click, make sure your landing page has many links to relevant content (such as tips and advice) that people can benefit from. If you do this, Google will reward you by cutting down your cost per click.

Yes, you need to spend more time and effort to create more relevant content instead of just a single sales or review page. But it’s worth it because you will pay a lot less per click. So, in the long run you can actually save more money.

I hope these tips are useful to you.
