Easy Way To Build Your Home-Based Internet Business

Here is an easy step-by-step approach to build your home-based internet business. I assume that you already have some basic “how-to” knowledge in Internet Marketing such as: registering a new domain, sign up for hosting account, familiar with cpanel, and know how to install WordPress using Fantastico from the cpanel.

Here are the steps…

1. Find A Topic.
The easy way to find a topic is to go to EzineArticles.com. When you visit the home page, you will immediately see a long list of categories. And each category will have many topics (just click on the category name and you will see the topics). So what you need to do is just go thru the categories, select one that you’re interested in and then select your topic. I’m sure you can find something that interests you.

TIP: this is an important first step so please take your time and don’t rush it. Select a topic that you’ve some knowledge or interest. You should browse the articles under your topic. If a topic has many articles, you can almost be sure that it has a demand and hence can profit from it.

2. Assess What Kind of Information People are Looking For…
Let’s say you’ve selected a topic in “Weight Loss” under the category “Health-and-Fitness”. Now go to Google Keyword Tool to obtain some keyword ideas. NOTE: we’re not doing keyword research at this point. We’re just evaluating what kind of information people are searching for on the web. For example, when you type in the keyword “weight loss” (without the quotes) in Google Keyword Tool, you will see a list of other keywords that are related to weight loss. For each keyword, you can also see some indicators about its search volume and competition. Do NOT worry too much about these indicators at this point.

Now, go thru the keyword list and select 10 keyword phrase that has at least 3 words in it. For example, these are some keyword phrase that have at least 3 words… “weight loss programs”, “weight loss pills”, “healthy weight loss”, “weight loss surgery”, “natural weight loss”, “herbal weight loss”, “green tea weight loss”, “hypnosis for weight loss”, “apple cider vinegar weight loss”, etc.. After you’ve selected your 10 keywords, scroll down and click on “Download all keywords” and save them in a text file for future reference.

TIP: you should select keywords that you have some knowledge. This is very important because you need to write a 300-400 words articles for each of the keyword you selected.

3. Register A Domain.
Now it’s the time to register your domain. Go to GoDaddy.com and register a domain name. TIP: make sure your domain name contains the keyword “weighloss”. For example: “weightlossinfohub.com”, “weightlosszone.com”, “bestweightlosssite.com”, “1weightlosssite.com”, etc.. etc..

4. Get A Hosting Account.
If you haven’t already had a hosting account. You need to get one now. I recommend you to get a HostGator Reseller Account as this is one of the best hosting companies in terms of value-for-money and services. A reseller account will allow you to host unlimited number of websites each with its own cpanel. The monthly cost for a reseller account is $24.95.

5. Install WordPress.
Installing wordpress is very easy with Fantastico in your cpanel. After you get a hosting account from HostGator, log on to your cpanel and look for an icon called “FANTASTICO”. Just click on the icon, click on “wordpress installation”, enter the directory you want to install worpress on, enter your email address and then click OK. Within a few seconds, you will see the message: “wordpress installation complete”. Yes.. it’s that easy.

6. Building Your Keyword-Based CONTENT.
Now, this is the hardest step because building or developing content for your website will take TIME and EFFORT. And this is a continuous process, meaning that you need to build fresh content on a regular basis in order to grow your site.

It’s not the purpose of this article to discuss how to build keyword-based content on a regular basis, this article simply outline the steps. For the complete information on how to build your wordpress site starting from keyword research, selecting affiliate products to promote, setting up Adsense, search engine optimization, building traffic, etc.. check out this guide: “WordPress Adsense System“. This is the only guide you need in order to master wordpress! It also show you how to develop unique and keyword-based content for your wordpress continuously.

Internet Marketing Quick Start Guide - Part 2

Monetize your Traffic in Blogger Blog

In part 1, we use Blogger blog and EzineArticles.com to start our first journey in Internet Marketing and drive traffic to our blog. There are few reasons why we use Blogger: it’s very easy to use, it gets indexed quickly by the search engines (especially Google), and it’s FREE of charge. And the reason why we chose Ezinearticles to drive traffic to our blogger blog is because it’s an authority site in the eyes of all major search engines. It’s the best tool for article marketing. Most keywords-optimized articles in Ezinearticles directory are ranked very well by the major search engines such as Google and Yahoo.

If you read my article “Internet Marketing Quick Start Guide - Part 1” and follow the steps outlined there, you should have some traffic coming to your blog now. Remember in part 1 I mentioned that “consistency is key”, if you follow the steps outlined in part 1 and take consistent action, I’m sure your blog will have enjoyed some good traffic.

Now is the time to monetiza the traffic!

Typically there are two types of monetization you can use in blogger blog…

1. Google AdSense

2. Affiliate Products

Take a look at the screenshot of one of my blogger blogs below…

There are adsense ads on top of each article in my blog and there are many Links on the right side. These links are either pointing to my affiliate products or other sites. This is my favorite layout for monetization in blogger blog. You can also put your Adsense ads on the right side. It’s up to the individual’s preference. For me personally, I always choose the above layout as it works best for me. You can test other layout or template if you want.

Ok, now let me show you how to add Adsense ads and links to a blogger blog.

Here are the steps to add AdSense Ads in Blogger blog

1. Login to your blogger blog.

2. Once you log in, the first screen you’ll see is the Dashboard.

3. Now click on “Layout” and you should see something like the following…

page-element

4. Click on “Add A Page Element” under the header as shown by the red arrow in the above screenshot and you will see a window pop up.

5. Now click on “Adsense: Add to Blog”.

6. Next, you will need to select the format of your Adsense ad. For my layout, I always choose “468×60 Banner” which fit nicely below the header.

NOTE: Of course, you need to register for a Google Adsense account first before you can place add in your blog.

P.S. The steps to add LINKS to your blog is exactly the same as adding Adsense ad except that you will need to type in your URL in the URL field of a Link List. For example: if you’re promoting an affilate product, you need to put your affiliate link URL in that field.

Here are the steps to get your affiliate link or URL in Clickbank…

1. Go to clickbank.com

2. Click on “Sign Up” to register an account with clickbank (registration is FREE).

3. Now, log on to clickbank using your new account.

4. Once you’re in, click on “Marketplace”.

5. Now select a category. For example, since I have a Home Fitness blog, I will select category “Health & Fitness”.

6. Click on the “Go” button and you’ll be presented with a list of products to promote.

7. Browse through the products and select a few to promote. You can either click on “View Pitch Page” (to view the sales page of the product) or “Create Hoplink” (which is to create your affiliate link for that product).

8. After creating your “hoplink”, copy your affiliate link or URL, paste it into a text file and save it. You will then use this affiliate link to promote the product. Anyone purchase through your affiliate link, you will get a commission.

Internet Marketing Quick Start Guide - Part 1

If you’re a total newbie and considering to start your Internet Marketing journey, this article is for you. This article is the first part of our “Quick Start Guide” series. It assumes that you know nothing about Internet Marketing, blogging, article marketing, etc..

Most newbies also has no idea about the following activities/concepts which are essential to any Internet Marketing site.
- Market Research
- Keyword Research
- Site Building
- Traffic Generation
- Monetization

If all these concepts sound alien to you, don’t worry as this article will provide you an easy way to learn all of them step by step. I will outline all the steps you need to start your first Internet Marketing journey even though you don’t have a website and have never built one before. All the activities or steps described here don’t require you to spend any money. You do need to spend your time and effort though.

Here are the steps…

1. Pick a topic that you’ve interest in it.

2. Create a Blogger blog.

3. Write and publish 2 articles per day for the next 3 days.

4. On 4th day, write 2 articles, submit one to EzineArticles.com and one to your blog.

5. Add your monetization module.

6. Continue to write and post articles regularly. Be consistent!

Now here are the details…

1. Pick a topic that you’ve interest in it.
How do you pick a topic you like? It’s easy! Just go to EzineArticles.com and you will see a list of article categories on the front page. Select a category you’re interested in and click to expand and see the topics. There are tons of topics there and I’m sure you can find one you like. By the way, while you’re in EzineArticles.com, create an account (it’s free). You’ll need to use it later on. NOTE: Go to Gmail.com or Yahoo.com to create an email account first before you create your account in EzineArticles.

2. Create a Blogger blog.
Go to blogger.com and create a blog. Creating and publishing Blogger blog is very easy. If you know how to create free email account at Gmail or Yahoo and know how to use microsoft Word, you know how to create and publish Blogger blog. If you’ve never blogged before, you can take a quick tour or tutorial in blogger.com.

3. Write and publish 2 articles per day for the next 3 days.
By now you should have selected a topic that you know about. Now you need to write a 400-500 words article about your topic and publish it in your blog. You need to write two articles per day for the next three days. I assume that you’re quite familiar with the topic you selected so writing two 400 words articles per day should be no problem. NOTE: at this point, don’t worry about keyword research. When posting articles to your blog, just choose the title that is sensible and appealing. I will discuss about keyword research and SEO in the next post. The idea here is to help you start your Internet Marketing journey and get your blog indexed by the search engines as soon as possible. However, if you want to familiarize yourself in keyword research, you can read it here: “keyword research“.

4. On 4th day, write 2 articles, submit one to EzineArticles.com and one to your blog.

After 3 days, you should now have at least six 400 words articles in your blog. On the 4th day, continue to write two articles but now submit one to Ezinearticles.com and one to your blog. IMPORTANT NOTE: when you’re submitting article to Ezinearticles, there is an “author’s bio resource box”. This is the most important part in article marketing* because this is the place where you direct the readers to your blog (driving traffic to your site). Here is a line you can use in your resource box…

“[INSERT YOUR NAME HERE] is the creator of [INSERT YOUR BLOG NAME HERE]. If you liked the tips in this article, why not get more tips about this subject at [INSERT YOUR BLOG URL HERE].”

5. Continue to write and post articles regularly. Be consistent!
From 5th day onward… continue to submit articles to your blog and Ezinearticles. Perhaps 2-3 articles (1 for your blog and 1 for Ezinearticles) per week now. Consistency is key here! If you can do this for the next 30 days consistently, you will see traffic start flocking to your blog.

6. Add your monetization module.
Once you have got the traffic, the next thing is to monetize the traffic and put some cash in your pocket. I will show you how to do that in part 2 of our “Quick Start Guide” series. So, please stay tuned! NOTE: you need to go to www.google.com/adsense to sign up for an Adsense account as you’ll need it in part 2.
